Change Word's default font

I don't like Times New Roman and get fed up with changing the font every time I open a new Word document. Can you tell me how to change the font permanently?

Every time you start a new Microsoft Word document, it is based on the standard document template (normal.dot). Fortunately, it is easy to change the default.

Open a new Word document, then click on Format, Font. Select the font, size and style you want to use for your new default, then click the Default button. Word will display a message dialog box warning you that this change will affect all new documents. Click Yes, and the job is done. See also tip Change the default font in MS Works word processor
